Ms. Simon received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She was a 2009 recipient of the U.S. State Department Critical Language Scholarship for Turkish language study. Her research interests include U.S.-Turkish relations, Turkish civil-military issues, and the role of minorities in Turkish society. She plans to pursue graduate studies in political science and international affairs.
