 Mr. Yilmaz is widely published on Turkey’s new foreign policy orientations, U.S. foreign policy, Turkish politics, energy security, Turkish-American relations, and is a frequent commentator for the Turkish media on these topics. He has served as the instructor for various University courses on aesthetics, critical theory, as well as Turkish Politics in the US and in Canada. Mr. Yilmaz received his BS in Sociology from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, and completed his M.F.A in Graphic Design from Bilkent University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at George Mason University’s Cultural Studies Program. Mr. Yilmaz has served as the Washington representative for Turkish media outlets STAR, 24 Haber, and CNNTürk. He currently serves as the Washington Bureau Chief for Turkish TV channel, ATV. He also contributes to a weekly column at USASabah. His comments and writings have been featured by major media outlets including Al-Jazeera English and Arabic, BBC, Washington Times, and Foreign Policy.

 Kadir Ustun received his M.A. degree in History from Bilkent University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Columbia University. Mr. Ustun has served as an Instructor for various undergraduate classes on history, politics, culture, and art in the Islamic World as well as Western political thought. He currently serves as the Assistant Editor of Insight Turkey, an academic journal published by SETA Foundation. His research interests include civil-military relations, social and military modernization in the Middle East, US-Turkey relations, and Turkish foreign policy.

Ms. Lopez received her B.A. in Political Science with minors in Business Administration and Economics from Fordham University. During her undergraduate studies, she was part of organizations whose missions were to raise awareness of political, social and economic developments in countries outside of the United States. She was President of Academia Hispana and was a member of Progressive Students for Justice, El Grito de Lares and Young Democrats. Ms. Lopez is currently pursuing her MS in Social and Community Development from Capella University.

 Ms. Ozkan Erbay started her career as a journalist in Istanbul, Turkey. During her six years of work with the nationwide daily newspaper Dünya, she covered special reports, conducted research and exclusive interviews on the domestic and international economy, trade and politics of Turkey. She represented Dünya in Turkey’s influential business organizations’ events, conferences and press meetings as well as in U.S. and European multi-national companies overseas. She previously worked as a research and executive assistant within the various departments of Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C. During her work she analyzed and researched U.S. media, conducted news briefings, and helped host delegations and distinguished guests from Turkey and the U.S. Ms. Ozkan Erbay received her B.A. in Communications from Istanbul University and her Master’s degree in Political and International Journalism from Georgetown University. She is currently pursuing a certificate on International Studies from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Dr. Kalin is the founding director of the SETA Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research based in Ankara, Turkey. In spring 2009 he took the position of Chief Foreign Policy advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He received his Ph. D. from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. As a broadly trained scholar of Islamic studies, he teaches a number of courses on Islamic history and culture. His field of concentration is post-Avicennan Islamic philosophy with research interests in Ottoman intellectual history, interfaith relations, and comparative philosophy. He has contributed to several encyclopedias including MacMillan Encyclopedia of Philosophy 2nd Edition, Encyclopedia of Religion 2nd Edition, Biographical Encyclopedia of Islamic Philosophy, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of the Islamic World. Dr. Kalin has published widely on Islamic philosophy and the relations between Islam and the West. He is also among the signatories of the Common Word (www.acommonword.com), a major initiative to improve Muslim-Christian relations, and the Prince Alwaleed Bin-Talal Center at Georgetown University.
Mr. Ulutas has published on a number of topics such as Israeli politics, the Arab-Israeli Peace Process, Turkish-Israeli relations, Jewish history and culture, and Turkish politics among other topics. He has also served as an instructor of world history at Ohio State University. He previously held the Samuel M. Melton Fellowship in Jewish Studies, and is the current holder of the George M. & Renée K. Levine Fellowship by the Melton Center for Jewish Studies. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science and Public Administration from Bilkent University in Ankara, and his M.A. in modern Middle Eastern history from Ohio State University. Additionally, he studied at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Ohio State University and is finishing his dissertation on the immigration of Turkish Jews to Israel during the inter-war years. His research languages include Turkish, Hebrew, Arabic, and French.
 Talha Kose graduated from the FEAS Political Science and International Relations Department of Boğaziçi University in 2000. In 2002 he graduated with an MA degree from FASS Conflict Analysis and Resolution Program at Sabancı University with the thesis titled "Islamic Mediation in Turkey: Third Party Roles of Alims in the Resolution of Communal Conflicts." Kose received his PhD from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University upon completion of his doctoral thesis titled, “Re-Negotiating Alevi Identity: Conflict and Cooperation Narratives and the Constitution of New Alevi Identity.” He worked as a graduate research assistant at Sabancı University and George Mason University. He has also been involved in various conflict resolution projects related to the Cyprus Issue and the Palestine-Israel conflict and has partaken in a number of inter-religious dialogue initiatives. His areas of interest are conflict analysis, ethnic and religious conflicts, mediation and alternative dispute resolution techniques, cultural and political violence, Chechen Issue, and Palestine-Israel conflict.
Ms. Cook previously worked as a researcher with the Turkey Project and Caspian Energy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), as a fundraising specialist for progressive non-profits and US Congressional and Senate candidates, and also as a civil rights researcher for the legal redress of the North Carolina NAACP. She also edits a publication for Young Professionals in Foreign Policy in Washington, D.C. She received her B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She has published articles in Today Zaman and Aksiyon and has been a commentator and moderator for various Turkish television programs and Azerbaijani newspapers.
Her areas of interest include: U.S. foreign policy; the U.S.-Turkey strategic relationship; Turkish foreign policy; civil-military relations in Turkey; Islamic social movements in Central Asia and the Middle East; geopolitics and energy security in the Southern Cooridor and Central Asia; and capacity building in democracy, governance and rule of law in Eurasia and the Middle East. She plans to pursue her MA in International Public Policy in Fall 2010.
